Mischievous me

Hello everybody. Remember me? I am junior solitary reaper. It has been quite a while since I wrote about my adventures as a super busy toddler. You see, I have now learnt important things like flipping through my animal pop up books, singing old Mc Donald, eating ice cream and making my dinosaur eat my toy cow. So, naturally I am finding it extremely difficult to write about my adventures. On top of all of this mum and dad have prohibited me from taking an afternoon nap which makes me go to bed early.  Little do they understand that I need more time in the day and not less if I have to keep up my commitments. The other day I stealthily joined the group of kids who were getting ready to take a nap in the nap room at nursery. But blow! Kelly found me and marched me back to the playroom. Drat! I should maybe put on somebody else’s clothes and a mask; then I may be successful at hoodwinking her. At times I think mum is doing this to me on purpose because of the early morning prank I pulled on her. Oh have I not told you about that? He he he, let me share it with you here.
It was still winter time and sun used to rise late in the day. One evening I heard mum talking to dad about her important meeting with her new boss the next morning. She was asking dad to drop me to the nursery the next day. I decided to have some fun. When I was watching videos of nursery rhymes on her phone I disabled the time adjustment on her phone. She did not suspect a thing that night. The next morning I waited for my plan to take shape. Mum woke up as usual, got ready to go to work and was about to quietly go down to the kitchen to fix her breakfast when I excitedly woke up and called out to her. Mum being so patient readily came into my room, cuddled me and got me dressed and ready for nursery even though it was dad’s turn today and not hers. Still nothing, she did not suspect anything. I almost concluded that my plan was a bust. She then brought me down to the kitchen and chanced a look at the big clock in the sitting room. She did a double take. She rubbed her eyes and looked at the clock again. It showed 5.15 instead of 6.15. She then looked at her Fitbit; then the clock in the garden room and finally dad’s phone. She still did not belive her eyes. The alarm had gone off on her phone at 6 as she had programmed. How did that happen then? It was only then that she realised that I had messed with the time setting on her “Smart” phone and it had disabled the day light saving settings.
All this while I was really having a great time watching her so confused and worked up. I then took pity on her and pointed at the television. She finally checked the time on BBC and sat down with a sigh. We watched a good episode of kids programme until it was the actual time for her to leave for work. I secretly wished she would not fall asleep during her important meeting with her manager. I enjoyed going to the nursery with dad. I shared this story with the other kids in my nursery making them want to pull a similar prank on their parents.
Hey what’s that? It looks like mum has got me a new jigsaw puzzle to put together. Let me have a crack at it right now. Talk to you soon. Bye…..
